Yay!  So I see you're exploring more about me, or your interested in coaching and you wonder if I'm legitimate or crazy,  or you're a friend of mine who I've sent here to make sure this site looks like a normal person's website, or maybe you are seriously lost-   either which way-  I'm so glad to tell you more...

All About Me

First, thanks for being here.  I’ll have you know this is the last page of my website that I worked on, which just makes allllllllll the sense in the world.   This is the part where I open up about my journey, sharing what I've gone through to reach this point.  It’s where as I’m writing this very sentence-  I feel a nervousness come up in my body and down my arms.   Voices in my head starting up “who is going to read this?” , “what are you going to put out there?”, “how honest are you going to be on this completely PUBLIC webpage, where ANYone - scratch that-  EVERYone- will be able to read it?”  These internal voices, I've come to learn, are normal and part of the change cycle. They stem from my ego, seeking to keep me safe and avoid any disruptions.    Noted.  Hello.  I see you.   The good news is that now I can spot it.  I can acknowledge it.  I can sit with the discomfort of it, and I can keep typing to tell you (you and EVERYbody that ever reads this) how I arrived at the point where I just want to help others make positive changes in their lives.

For as long as I can remember, I've been deeply fascinated by connecting with people, understanding how they feel, what they desire, and what challenges they face. Delving into the root of how we feel- our fears and aspirations has always facinated me to a point where, for a long time- I honestly assumed that everyone felt that way.  Turns out-  not the case.  Not everyone wants to think about this stuff 24/7-  who knew?

In July of 2019, I felt like a lot of things in my life were missing despite my having worked really hard at getting myself and my family exactly to the place we were.  Why wasn’t I happy?  I was carrying around a lot of resentment and frustration, and as much as I didn’t want to-  I knew that the source of it was an inside job, and not something I could blame on any outside circumstances.   So, I took a courageous step and decided to remove alcohol from my life, realizing I had been using it to numb myself.  I didn’t have a plan, I didn’t go to a meeting, or reach out for help, or even tell a single person at first.  I just knew that if I wanted to see my life clearly, I was going to need to remove anything that was blinding me to its reality. This single decision set off what would become a profound transformation, and a reconnection back to myself.   Along the way, I would meet incredible new people, who would lead to other new people, groups, books, ways of thinking, all of it felt so familiar to that innate desire I had to examine ...."life".

Fast forward three challenging but transformative years, during which I navigated a sober path through the process of separating from my husband and preparing for divorce. Along this journey, I found myself drawn repeatedly to Martha Beck's Wayfinder Life Coach Training program. Though I had reservations about its cost and timing, a conversation with one of the instructors solidified my conviction. I hung up and I felt a certainty in my actual body that said “Yes. I want more of that.  I want to help do exactly that for other people too.”   I would go on to learn that Martha refers to that inner knowing as a cue from your “essential self”, but call it whatever you want.   What I learned that day, and truly every day since- is that if you follow that voice- that essential self inside of you-  it.  will.   never.  ever. lead you the wrong way.

That part of you is your own navigational device that is connected to your own inner wisdom.   There is not a person on this planet that is born without it.   I have it.   You have it.  Your neighbor has it.   Everyone has it.    It’s just a matter of whether or not you pay attention to it, or if  you are curious enough to lean in to feel what it has to say.

So!  What am I doing here?   Well- I want to offer a space for you to dive deeper into your essential self.  That process will look different for each person, which is why it felt important to get certified and learn a variety of tools to help different people access that wisdom in different ways.  Also drawing from my own life experiences—(marriage, divorce, parenting gifted and neurodivergent kids, estranged family relationships, addiction, therapy, relocation, anxiety, and depression, to name a few! ;)—I'm confident in my ability to help anyone seeking positive change in their life.

In essence, I'm here to support you on your journey of self-discovery and transformation. Nothing in my life has ever felt more important than that very journey (which I am still going through and will always be going through.) And I really can’t wait to connect with you and be a guiding force on your path to a fulfilling life.
